Useful online tools at the lessons for Access students
Our students are of different levels from A1-A2 to B1. So we use English Files Pre-Intermediate as a textbook in our group to progress step-by-step through its units.
But to play, learn about American culture, traditions and holidays, to develop leader personal skills etc. we add a bunch of materials and interactive activities from other resources. We also give differentiated tasks when working in groups and pairs.
Some useful online tools at the lessons for Access students:
https://quizlet.com/ – It is the best online tool to practice vocabulary. You can find a ready-made set of words and phrases or create flashcards with student during your lesson. They can generate different sets of expressions working in groups in session rooms. Quizlet Live allows for both individual and team play, and teams can be randomized in a virtual classroom environment through Zoom.
https://listenaminute.com/ – It is a very easy online tool to practice listening at the lesson. There are PDF worksheets, MP3 listening and quizzes to check and practice the vocabulary. They can also do “listen and draw” activity while listening to discuss and check in pairs or groups in the end.
https://show-english.com/ – There is a great variety of videos for different levels. You can add words and phrases to learn and practice. It can be used as home assignment, especially for those students who are not able to join online lessons due to the difficult situation in their region but they can practice English at any time suitable for them.
